Art is something which requires creativity and is limitless which makes it really fascinates me. Therefore I had opted for arts during Bal Mela where I can teach something or do something for the underprivileged\u00a0children which makes them happy. I was assigned to the graffiti wall and face painting during the event.<\/p>\n

The learning outcome achieved\u00a0during the event were the following:<\/strong><\/p>\n

LO1-Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth.<\/strong> I choose to fill color\u00a0once somebody draws a character using the\u00a0paint as I am not very efficient while drawing with paint so after observing a couple of drawings I started drawing characters too which gave me an opportunity to work on my weakness and develop them into strengths.<\/p>\n

LO2-Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process.\u00a0<\/strong>Due to the limited time, we needed to finish face painting of each person in two minutes as there were a lot of children and a lot of chaos as nobody followed a queue, therefore, we needed to manage the children and make sure everybody gets their face painting done in time.<\/p>\n

LO3-Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience.<\/strong> Planning was crucial for the event as we needed to order how many paints we needed according to the number of children that were coming, also the\u00a0range of age of the children so that we can pick up a few designs if they aren’t sure of what they want to be painted. We also needed to see how many students were required for face painting after looking at the number of children that were going to come and assign everybody to their duties accordingly.<\/p>\n

LO4-Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences.\u00a0<\/strong>We needed to continuously\u00a0stand for the whole event looking downwards and painting which was quite tiring but totally worth it. Even though the planning took time and the number of children showing up was endless the end result which was the satisfaction of doing a good deed and doing something for which is not for yourself but for the happiness of others.<\/p>\n

The event was a huge success as the event was well-organized and at the end of the day, we achieved our goal which was to make the children happy. That day I felt quite productive of myself that I did something good for others and utilized\u00a0the time well.<\/p>\n
