In our school, the school had arranged\u00a0service sessions\u00a0for students who are economically\u00a0not well stable and do not have the same opportunity and facility as our school is providing. In this service session students from a School (Jumbish) had come to our school. We were divided into groups, who had to come to school for 4 weeks (weekends) and teach them one of the activities in which we have experience and also the\u00a0ability to teach them. I chose the activity basketball as I have a\u00a0great passion for it and I have experience of playing basketball for 4 years.<\/p>\n

LO4- Going to school on weekends was not something I was looking forward to, needed a lot of commitment, however, the purpose changed how I felt, I was truly feeling grateful to help those children in need.<\/p>\n

LO5- I demonstrated\u00a0my basketball skills and tried to help those children to learn from it. I gave them different types of training. I mostly covered all the basics like shooting, dribbling and some knowledge about basketball rules. It was a great feeling, that I am being a part of something like this. This was the first time I was teaching, so I was kind of nervous but things could not have gone easier because of my friends.\u00a0The workload was divided equally among each of us. For kids from Jumbish, it was their first-hand experience.<\/p>\n

LO6-\u00a0 The global issue here is poverty, which is worldwide spread due to lack of resources, not getting the opportunity and the training to poor people. We gave them training in what we were good at. Some students performed exceptionally good, if these kinds of opportunity are often given to them they can become good players. It was fun interacting with them and also getting to know them.\u00a0While training them I felt like a coach, the responsibility. This was an amazing experience for me.<\/p>\n

After knowing all this, I was motivated to take greater advantages of facilities which are given by the school. I was very happy that I could teach them one of the skills I acquired. These are some pitchers of us, teaching them how to play basketball.<\/p>\n
