Improving my fitness at the GYM

At the beginning of the activity, my fitness level was very low and was a bit out of shape, I could not climb a set of stairs without being out of breath and my thighs getting sore. so I decided to join the gym and hire a personal trainer to help me improve my fitness, the activity lasted for a year. the plan for this activity was 6 days of gym every week and workout for at least 1.5 hours. every day the body part in focus would be different for 5 of the days and one day for a cardio workout. The learning outcomes for this activity are LO1 LO2 And LO4.

LO1:- Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth

My main areas for growth was my lower body as my lifestyle mainly consists of me sitting down on a chair and barely getting any exercise by the lower body. To improve it I gave more than 1.5 hours for leg day and mainly measure my fitness level on the leg press which gave me the benchmark of my strength every week and I could see it improve day by day.

LO2:- Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills

My lifestyle consists of me eating packed food and oily foods while being busy with IB, this created a challenge for me as I had to take out time from my busy schedule and controlling my diet. Also, the exercises in the gym were too tough for me to execute as I had never been subjected to such heavy weights.

Even though I was burdened with IB studies I took time to learn the proper posture and new exercise techniques and the sore body after each workout made it difficult to work on my studies and yet I managed to do them simultaneously.

L4: Show perseverance and commitment in CAS experience

The work out was very time-consuming and made it difficult to manage other things as It was really difficult to manage the studies and extra-curricular activities with the gym and many times I arrived at the gym as late as 9 pm yet I rarely skipped a day and continued the activity for a year and saw a significant change in my fitness level.
