Football has been a priority for me and I have acquired it in my daily routine and practice it whenever possible. I played my first states when ai in grade 8 and have been continuing selected in my city’s team. Representing my city in the competition and giving my best has always made me proud and I just love to live that moment over and over again.
L1: Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth
After every state, I get an opportunity to understand my strengths and areas for improvement, which further helped me to get better and to develop overall as a football player. Getting inputs and feedback from other coach and national selector, also helped me to improve my game and to make my self-better for my team.
L2: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process
Some of the main challenges I face in my start were first as football is a team sport and all my teammate are people who whom I have played for very less time or am meeting them for the first time. This creates a major problem because not all players have a matching playing style hence error may happen. While trying to avoid this problem I developed a really important skill which was communication.
L3: Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience
Because of my states, I missed my EE introduction session and hence was lacking behind on my initial part of EE, making and presenting my sales pitch and deciding my research question. When going through the Diwali homework I notice about the same and that it needs to be submitted to EE supervisor before school re-open. Because of this while planning about doing my Diwali homework I was not sure about how much time I should give to this activity and forgot about it. In last week realised about my pending EE work and decided to call and ask a few friends about what and how to start. I did complete my work but not properly but with further consultation, I finally prepare my sales pitch which was accepted. To conclude I believe I should not procrastinate and learn to take responsibility towards learning things which I have missed.
L4- Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experience
As football in a team game, commitment towards other players, towards the Fairplay is a very crucial part of it. The problem which I face in the tournament was that my team was made on individual selection base and hence it was very hard to understand other people, my teammate, and how they played. To solve this problem we did practice and some drill to understand our position and how we would operate/play in the match.
L5- Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively
Working collaboratively is a very important aspect of football as it a team game. I have never face problem in any collaborative activity and love to delegate in it. Just as what I did in this activity. I try to have continuous communication with my teammates and asking them to do the same so we can dominate the game. Though I faced some difficulties like not all people in my team used to think or play as I expected and because miscommunication a lot of mis-passed and wrong interpretation happed in the game but this was solved as soon as we played together as a team in more matches.
