Extended Essay reflection (1,2,3)_Shatrunjaya Gemwat

First Reflection

I have always been interested in the field of technology.and so I chose drone journalism as my topic in the subject ITGS.
I started my research, by first visiting related sources online. And then I listed them down according to to the criteria of EE.
Before this, I have chosen another topic, which was cryptography, but due to the lack of primary data collection, I changed it to my current one.
Another issue I faced was the creation of the research question. It is difficult to create a research question because a research question might cause your content to change in quantity and quality. And will affect the extended essay.

Interim Reflection

My research done on the UAVs was successful. I was able to come up with related arguments backed up with evidence and reach a certain conclusion. During the process of the research, I changed the way I used my sources. Before I was just focusing on journalism than the IT system UAV. But after I changed the way I filtered my sources and made them relevant to my research question. I learned about different applications of the IT system, and how simple IT systems can have multiple applications. I further understood the ITGS triangle as how privacy is affected by an IT system in certain scenarios.

Final reflection -viva voce

If I were to again research on this topic, then I would have tried to collect more primary information, so it could have become quantitative and qualitative, but I only had qualitative information. By talking more primary information from different stakeholders would have helped me to make an argument and also analyze different perspectives. But I would have used the same methodology as I did previously. I might change the content I would take, but the approach to research would remain the same. By this evaluation, I can conclude that writing my first Extended essay, had taught me about the difficulty and in ways to do research, analysis, create a research question and reach a conclusion. My strategies for achieving my outcome were lagging and so the approach has to be changed. If any new questions were to emerge from my previous investigation, then I would reconsider the questions, and then investigate again.
