My name is Pranav Agrawal and I am 17 years old. I am a boy who loves to play on fields or a boy who loves to paint my life on a canvas but I am not talented in any of these things. Its always half way up the bar, there is always something that I am bad at which takes the pride of calling myself talented. Whether it’s football where I am good at defending but poor in controlling the ball or arts where I can draw masterpieces but paint horribly. Well, I am actually glad to have this unfinished pursuit to perfection; it gives me motivation to improve and work hard in every field.
Seeing new places has always interested me, I love to go on unplanned expeditions. Travelling helps me to understand cultures and live a different life. Every experience builds me block by block. I love meeting new people, interacting with them, eating with them, talking to them, laughing with them but most importantly smiling with them. I would love to go on a world tour with no money and devices with the people I love.
My outlook on life
Everybody sees life differently, I see it in a very simpler way. Like everybody I want to be happy and the sole purpose of living is to be happy. I am more of a go with the flow instead of planning every second of life and living on the hands of the clock. I like to live on the cliff where I will never know what is coming for me. Life is unpredictable, so live with the people who makes you feel comfortable and force you to live the next day. According to me, life is chance for us to grow and not individually but together.

Activity 1 : Additional Mathematic Tutoring Club (CAS Project)
We four Additional Mathematics Students conducted a Math tutoring class from 24th July. Tutoring classes would be conducted before the school hours, thrice a week till 8th August and after that twice a week. I decided to teach because I have always excelled at the subject. Math has been my only favorite subject since i started holding a pen. Math is subject with absolute certainty. We started tutoring and took this additional mathematics tutoring club because of the satisfaction by being able to sole every sum and thinking critically and passing this knowledge and set of skills to the coming batches was the best use of my talent. completing IGCSE Additional Mathematics course, me along with three of my friends; Palak, Suhani, and Divij created this club, we were serving the students in order to help them to cope up with the syllabus as we faced difficulties in the past two years. we look forward to helping them achieve excellence using our past experience. The classes took place before school hours for about 2 months. We made sure that our classes were planned beforehand so that no time is wasted. To make sure that they get enough practice we even prepared worksheets and tests. A spreadsheet was created to stay organized. It included everything from class wise plan to test papers and attendance sheet.
(Spreadsheet-https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1wnb7UrinK3OkTluhUtNAzwjXXqz9oRyYALh5fa-gacc/edit?usp=sharing)
We are greatly involved with Additional Mathematics since past 2 years (IGCSE). We took this opportunity as we were passionate about the subject and hence taught the students with great dedication. The skills involved were teaching, extensive communication skills, Logical and Critical Thinking, Problem-solving skills.
learning outcomes
L1 – I personally belong to mathematics background, so I had an upper hand in terms of understanding problems and comprehending the logical and analytical problems. It is impossible that all four of us would have perfected each and every concept and chapter. We identified our strengths and weaknesses and divided our tasks accordingly. My strength was teaching and helping the students who don’t understand the problems or not able to solve the questions. so instead of checking or making test papers, I used to plan the classes and teach the students
L2 – Catering to the doubts of the students was a challenge. Doubts can be unpredictable and so we had to be thorough with all our concepts, luckily, We all were very understanding so if one person was not able to solve the doubt the other used to help him or her, but this doesn’t mean that we came unprepared, we used to go through all the concepts. another challenge was lack of motivation in them and as well as us. As early morning classes are really depressing, waking up for them was not an easy task for either of us ( teachers and students ) this often led to low attendance. A hangout group was made for constant reminders, and to persuade them to turn up for classes. planning the syllabus was not an easy task either.
L3 – To really start with the early morning sessions, we required authorizations from many individuals. The way toward getting these permissions included endless visits to the senior school facilitator and the transport division. Planning the syllabus which includes detailed explanations of each and every concept and covers all the topics in an efficient and productive manner was difficult but to ensure this the planning was revised again and again with updates catering to the IGCSE revised syllabus. While doing so, we made sure that we consider what they are currently studying in the school so that we maintain the same pace. Looking to all perspectives and students uniquely, the club was designed in a way to involve each and every student with different background and knowledge about the subject, for doing this we consulted with the subject teacher and understood the weaknesses and strengths of every student.
L4 – waking up early was not an easy task but we did it and turned up to every class. I, once even, missed by bus, so I cam by taxi to school at 6 in the morning to teach the juniors. It was really difficult as coming early and showing dedication to teach parallel to do IB. We still managed to be committed to the task and the only reason was for the greater good. We were also very passionate about the subject and so we were able to teach with great dedication.
L7 – academic honesty is a must and was followed throughout the project. We used a lot of reference material, questions from websites and past papers, and other resources for productive learning. we cited and credited each one of them. ethics of teaching were also met by showing dedication and maintaining a formal relationship with students and making the classroom an environment to study.
L5 – We four knew each other and each other’s weakness, so we reflected upon every class and worked upon the suggestions to improve the delivery of knowledge. Tasks were divided into 6 parts: Making syllabus, tutoring, teaching graphing on GDC, finding worksheets, test papers, and logistics. We appointed in-charges for each of these tasks.
Activity 2 : Football PS

Activity 3 : Inter School Football Competition
I represented my school in the inter-school football competitions. I really like playing football. I was not one of those players who were god gifted or talented enough to get selected in my first match. I wasn’t a part of the team from the start. Therefore, to get selected, I had to work harder. Throughout my life, I have participated in many interschool football tournaments like Khel Mahakumbh, Xavier’s cup, FS cup, a competition held at International School Aamby, IB league, YGI and the Subroto Cup.
L1 – when I started playing football, the only thing I wanted to do is shoot the ball and score a goal but gradually I understood that I am not the perfect fit for that position and I possess the skills to defend the ball. Through this competition, I have understood my strengths and my weaknesses which now I am able to work on in our training sessions. I used to play as a forward but now I play as a defender for my team because I am better at stopping people who try to get through me than getting through people. changing my position didn’t save me from my weakness. I am also weak at controlling the ball, though I am better at it from before. I play football on a regular basis and try to improve on my weaknesses. I practice some skills at home because when you want to do something, try doing it right. in football, if you want to achieve your goal, it is not necessary you need two players to practice. I practice with my wall. I pass the ball towards the wall and it comes back to me and then I repeat the drill.
L2 and L5 – While working on my weaknesses, I had to understand that football is not an individual sport but is a team game. as a team, we were very strong and coordinated .the biggest challenge was to overcome our weaknesses and practice regularly. because of our exams, we used to practice very less and due to lack practices we lost some games, it was three semi-finals in a row and to prove ourselves, we got another chance at fs cup. this cup was held at our school and that motivated us as we didn’t want to lose on our home ground. we practiced a lot, we went to each other’s places to practice, we came early to school and we even started to diet just to improve our coordination and teamwork. we started helping each other and pointed out weaknesses of each other so that the person can also learn and work on their weaknesses. we helped each other like my friend used to help me with what he is good at and I used to do the same so that we grow as a team but this was not the only challenge, facing an equally competitive or a better team than ours was also a challenge. It is really challenging to win against a competitive team. It requires a lot of hard work and practice. but teamwork got it through. Fortunately, all our hard work paid off and we won the FS cup. We tried to overcome our mistakes which we did in our last few matches and it helped us win the cup.
L4 – “Practice makes a man better” with keeping this quote in mind. I was determined to work hard to secure my position in the team. Football is a very famous game and involves a lot of participants. People all over the world love to play this game thus involving a lot of competition. My school has over 1800 students and the team has only 11 players among them. 160 players fighting for one position. I came early morning and after-school camps to play better. My performance was improved. With hard work, football also requires commitment, you can’t just quit football any day you want. I am in 12th and its difficult to manage studies and football together and in a world where studies are considered more important than sports, you are forced to choose studies over football but I learned how to manage time and even now I regularly play football, not only in school but me and my friends meet outside to play.
Activity 4 : Service Session
Our School organized service programs for underprivileged children from various NGOs and rural places like Barbodhan, Tunda and Umra. The service programmed included various sports and activities which allowed the children to explore every field of such activities. there were activities like volleyball, football, visual arts, dance and etc. we were required to select a particular activity of our interest and teach the children for over a month on weekends. I was in charge of my batch for Football. I’ve always had a keen interest for Football. we were required to plan the session as in what things we will cover.
The curriculum we planned included:
- The importance of warm-up and how to do it properly.
- Teaching all the basic rule about the game.
- Basic Ball control drills like dribbling, passing and controlling the ball.
- Simple Shooting and agility drills.
- Playing Match 7 v 7.
- defenders vs strikers
L05:- Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively
The sessions had a significant effect on me as I learned how to co-ordinate with colleagues and support them. The sessions were a bit unorganized at the start as we were new to all of this and there were so many volunteers which created a mess, but we did overcome it and by the end of the first session all the roles were distributed among the volunteers and therefore the upcoming sessions were efficient. As the number of volunteers were more, the efficiency increased as each of the volunteer was able to cater to the children in a interactive manner. the children got a lot more personal attention from the volunteers which also encouraged the children. I helped out in maintaining the decorum of the sessions as this was an one-time opportunity for me to do something with my passion which will help others. We had to keep our communication skills sharp as we needed to report the progress and the track of the classes.
L03:- Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience
As I was the in-charge of my Batch, I had to plan the things we were going to cover throughout the sessions and furthermore keep the track of the session ( if the sessions are going in the way it was planned and everything is being covered) I tried to make the activities as simple as possible so that the children could actually perform them and improve at it. The sessions were required to be simple as the children were not that up to date with the game of football. So I had to keep things according to their requirement and which will engage and improve them. I was not able to fulfill each of their needs as the volunteers were busy loitering around instead of teaching them and that was taken care of but could have done in a more planned manner.
L04:- Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experience
I was committed to the service session as it was to teach football to the children and football is my passion. So commitment comes hand in hand when it comes to football. i also had to be committed as i was one of the leaders of my batch which deduces how responsible I am and the commitment i show will have an impact on the other volunteers and the children. I showed commitment when I had to reschedule my study hours as it was on the weekend during the evenings. Playing football helped me to get refreshed and helped to reduce the load of studies. The main reason that kept me committed to the sessions was that I was helping the society in some way and taking off my time for something which will bring a smile.
L02:- Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process.
During this activity, I also gained some confidence and coordination as giving instruction required to face a big audience and I have stage-fear ( i hesitate and get anxious when i have to speak to a big audience) this was something i improved as I still cat say that i overcome it. I also learned how to be cooperative and a good listener because there were people to give suggestions about how to conduct the classes so I evaluated everybody’s opinion and reach the conclusion. I also learned how to be patient when it comes to teaching as I am a person who gets furious very easily if someone in front of me doesn’t get the thing in few tries. i was patient when it came to teaching football to the unprivileged children as they were not aware about the basic concepts of football (passing and dribbling the ball) as they were totally new to the subject of football which required me and my volunteers to show them how to do it and perform every drill. We also gave them time to adjust and get with the flow which required a lot of patience.
Activity 5 : CAS Trip to Savarkundla ( save lions movement)
Rural Pleasure is a social enterprise dedicated towards improving livelihood of deserved rural population through Rural Tourism. Rural Pleasure is a social enterprise which has been helping animals to contribute to the wildlife. Our school tied up with Rural pleasure in a project initiated to help Asiatic lions and other animals from falling into the well. The entire grade went on a trip to Savarkundla which is located in Amreli, Gujarat to assist the organisation in this essential project and to live up with our responsibilities for 3 days (8th September to 10th September).
The issue which seize the organisations attention was the open wells. there are approximately 50,000 open wells. Each year 10-15 lions die by falling into the open wells. The issue wasn’t just about lions but also other animals who end up dying the same way. The solution was pretty clear, It required to cover the well. So the animals who fall will land on the covering.
Learning Outcomes Achieved:
- Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process. The campsite became the work-site in the morning. The construction involved a lot of determination, hard-work, standing in the sun for 8 hours straight and understanding of machines. I didn’t know much about the machines used for making the cover. Using the wielding ion or polishing tool were like physics formulas to me. It was very challenging because I wasn’t used to that atmosphere and how to get the work done with the machines I don’t know how they work. After a lot of attempts and assistance by the experts, I was able to complete the tasks and ironically I loved working with those machines.
- Show commitment to and perseverance in the CAS experience. All the work was required to be completed in one day which required extensive efforts. Working for half of the day in blazing sun showed me how consisted and determinant we were towards this project. This experience required commitment to the cause of saving lions. We can’t risk the lives of lions for our procrastination. Staying committed helped us to complete the work on time and also enhanced the quality of our work because commitment is key to success and polished outcomes.
- Demonstrate engagement with issues of global significance. This issue is quite significant throughout the world. everyone all around the world is finding a solution for this issue. we are focusing on the suptopic of this issue , there is more to this issue like lion many animals are getting killed or extinct on a very high rate which is not acceptable. Extinction of animals is a global concern. It creates problems in many ways like disturbing the ecosystem or disappearance of the complete existence of the animal. Asiatic lions are very few in number and in order to conserve them, we covered the wells which will help to reduce the rate of extinction. by covering the well, it gives me a way to contribute to our beautiful nature.
- Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth On the very first day, The electricity was out. Another obstacle I faced was when we sat with the experts and planned how the covering will look like and placed a small blueprint how the covering will look like and decided what we have to do next day. Planning involves decision making, knowledge, experience and management. I am not good at making decisions as it requires a lot of leadership skills. Overcoming these challenges was very satisfying. Decision making was my weakness which I tried to overcome but I quickly grasp knowledge and thus while listening to the instructions given by the experts carefully.I was able to come to the desirable outcomes.
- Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively. We were divided in groups to make the work easier and efficient.I am not very fond in working in groups because I don’t want people in my group suffering if I do something wrong thus working in groups was not a easy task for me.Working in group was important because we had to finish everything in one day. While working in groups, we developed coordination, understanding and mutual trust.we also make friends and connect better. In fact working as a team was better than working individually as it saves time, develops new ideas and gives better outcomes .
What learner profile characteristics did I develop in this activity?
This project involved a lot of risk-taking. We also were caring towards the environment as we were caring towards endangered animals.Another learner profile characteristic I developed was being a communicator as when we are performing group task, I managed to communicate with other members well.
We as humans, its our duty to help the environment. The CAS trip was a thrilling and rewarding experience. we made very cherishing memories and are proud to contribute something to the world.
what is bullying? Bullying is unwanted, aggressive behavior among school aged children . bullying creates a negative aura around us which contributes to the school environment and makes life difficult for students and for teachers as well . bullying creates a scar on the victim’s life and that scar will never come out. bullying influences a lot of students and that is the upbringing of a negative society. Anti- bullying is one of the main focuses of our school and consequently ours. my friends and i decided to use the most creative medium arts.we decided to create graffiti across the school and whenever someone passes through it will be uplifted and enlightened.

Activity 7 : Weed cleaning at Gavier Lake
Gavier lake is covered with weeds which makes it difficult for the birds to dive in the water. Due to the unwanted weeds, the birds find it difficult to look beneath the surface of the water and also come back up . weeds are also the cause of eutrophication which can lead to the death of a lot of marine lives and can disturb our natural ecosystem. few of my friends and i took initiative to clean this mess up.this activity was conducted by us every weekend
LO4
one requires a lot of perseverance to do work like this as pulling out the weeds from the lake to serve the environment in morning hours is really difficult as the sun is right above you and we needed to put all we have in the water to take out as much weed as possible in one go to become time efficient as there was a lot of work to do as the whole lake was covered with the weeds and we wanted to clean the maximum lake possible. With immense efforts and a lot of commitment we were able to clean one part of the lake on the first day which encouraged us to show up again to serve nature and contribute to this social work. We were on boats between the lake , and when we were done with the area near our boat , we needed to row the boat to another part of the lake but we did not have paddles , we were required to row the boat with a piece of wood which took a lot of efforts and strength.
LO2 and LO5
the challenges we encountered were firstly, this activity was conducted on early morning Sundays and getting out of bed at 7 am on a Sunday is really not my cup of tea. secondly , how easy this weed pulling seems , it is really not that easy . pulling out weeds from the sea required a lot of strength and efforts which everyone is not able to do. we had to get that wooden boat inside and tie it with a rope so we are not stuck in the middle of sea .we also needed to row the boat to the part of the lake where there is a lot of weed to clean. Balancing the boat was no easy task not just by weight of us but by the weight if the weed we collected and it was heavy. so we made 2 teams according to the strength(The responsibilities were distributed according to the strength which helped us complete the activity effectively) and made a game out of it, where the one whose pile of weeds is more wins the game. one person also stayed out on the land where others were distributed among teams , the person was supposed to stack all the weed brought by us in sets. the person used to be the one who got tired or is in no mood to go int he lake while others were picking out weeds from the lake. it was a turn by turn system which showed the collaboration and co-ordination we have. This motivated my colleagues and helped us to clean the lake beyond our capacity. people were not so bizarre with how the weed looked so we had a solution where who were not comfortable with picking out weeds by hand were picking out weed with logs . the activity was supposed bring us out of our comfort zone which it did and , we were able to clean a huge part of the lake
LO6
Aquatic weed control is important because they not only look unsightly but also harms the aquatic life. It is essential to keep the water surface is free of vegetation so that birds which dive into the water to catch fish and ducks which dive underwater to graze on aquatic vegetation gets open water to com out. This is a global issue as there are water bodies everywhere and the whole world is facing this problem to clean the water bodies to maintain aquatic life ( marine life) . Nature club took a great initiative to clean them to save the race of ducks, birds and more. Joining hands with nature club was the best decision ever. nature club gave us a platform to contribute to minimize this global issue
the experiences was really thrilling as we could have fallen into the water at any given time as we were on a wooden trashed boat with no balance and a lot of weight which really was exciting and adventurous. this was a way of me helping nature and contributing my learning somewhere it can actually be useful. this helped me become a better person by serving the environment . i think if everyone does something like this , even small then it can change the world .
LO1
i identified my strength when we were on the boat and divided in teams. so on my boat i was the only one with some sufficient amount of power to row the boat with a piece of log . so when I realized it , i took the responsibility seriously and was capable and successful enough to row the boat to place where there is ample amount of weed to take out and go back to land. however there was weakness attached to me , because I am heavy or a person with greater mass thus the boat was leaning towards my side and because of the swings of paddle it was leaning more , so there was one point where i was almost in water but gradually i understood the situation and then started balancing the boat by changing my positions or by paddling the other side to balance the boat.
