Regular Swimming and Gym Practice

Description of the particular activity and goals (100 words)

This activity will enhance my stamina and boost up my health extensively through regular gym and swimming. This activity has helped me increase focus in academics and prevent laziness to infest in my body, as exercise in any form makes you alert and is also an important stressbuster. Swimming has always fascinated me and Gym will help me swim better, hence this CAS experience will really be an amazing one! 4 days a week swimming and gym.

Learning outcome 1: Identifying strength and weaknesses will help us progress in life, hence same applies to swimming. I identified many weak points in my fitness and my swimming strokes, which helped me stay committed towards it and help me further. I feel really good that I identified my weakness as it was disturbing my performance. As i identified them right now, I will be able to work on it and gain proficiency. Overcoming my weakness in swimming strokes, improved my stamina and speed and eventually my timing. I wasn’t able to push ups well in the gym which was my weakness, hence I worked on it. I even identified new techniques while doing various machines and floor exercises, which helped me develop new strengths.

Learning outcome 2: The wrong things that i have been doing were taught to me by my coach. But to implement the things taught was a tough job. New skills of swimming were difficult to implement but I managed to implement them through constant practice. Taking challenges to improve timings was the most important part, hence for that I tried competing my coach, who always managed to beat my by roughly 2 secs. This made me competitive and taking a challenge to beat my coach improved my speed and eventually timing. Trying out new gym equipments also required skilled understanding, hence I had to take in those skills to improve my strength and stamina. Even during Gym, I had to try new exercises in order to gain better fitness. I had to explore new equipments and gain new skills.

Learning outcome 4: Commitment and perseverance were integral to success in sports. I really showed commitment to improve my timing in related events just as I wanted to achieve some level of standard in swimming. I wanted to win the district competition hence In  was committed towards this goal. I practiced rigorously to win this, and regular gym and swimming practice helped me do this. It is quite a tough thing to commit towards things as you have to be aware of its failures, hence in this job I was quite well aware of the failures of an unimproved performance, hence I committed towards it to make it a huge success. I wanted to gain fitness, which was lost due to a huge gap in exercise due to exams. Hence I stood committed towards gym to regain levels of fitness.

The final take away would be that, I would continue swimming and gym towards my life as this would help me gain focus in and study related work. This would relieve stress from my life, hence I would continue these sports to be stress free as being stress free is really important for a successful life.
