Introduction:

Throughout 2017 I participated in many interschool football tournaments like Khel Mahakumbh, Xavier’s cup, FS cup, a competition held at International School Aamby and the Subroto Cup.Some of these competitions were held in our school and some outside the school.

LO1.

Football has always been and shall indefinitely be a pivotal part of my life.I play as a defender for my team but earlier I used to play as a midfielder and my job was to supply balls to the attackers, create chances and support the defenders. It required speed and lot of endurance. I faced a lot of difficulties playing as a midfielder so I decided to play as a defender because it requires comparatively less speed and endurance. I have played football regularly this year and I have grown a lot as a defender. I consider it as my biggest strength while playing football. It is really important in life to be aware of our strengths and to be able to overcome our weaknesses because it makes our life easier. Knowing my strengths has helped me a lot because in all the football team selections( for example state team selection) I apply as a defender and not as a midfielder which leads to greater chances of me getting selected. I will also try to improve my endurance and speed by exercising regularly.

LO2.

One of the most challenging parts of this year’s competitions was facing an equally competitive or a better team than ours. We faced some of the best teams in our city. We lost in the semifinals in three tournaments to some of the nicest teams. It is really challenging to win against a competitive team. It requires a lot of hard work and practice. We did not practice much but we tried to give our best in all the tournaments although sometimes our strategies did not work as planned. The last tournament we played was the FS cup. We tried to overcome our mistakes so that we could play well. We used to come early morning to the school and practice. Fortunately, all our hard work paid off and we won the FS cup.It is important to undertake challenges in our life so that we develop new skills and grow as a person. We tried to overcome our mistakes and it helped us win the cup.

LO5.

I find myself comfortable working in a team because I have been playing this sport for a long time. I did not face any difficulties with my team in any of our matches. Our team was very cooperative.To succeed at the task in hand everyone involved needs to combine their efforts. If everyone does their job well, then it increases what the team can accomplish.Everyone has their own unique role, but each person’s individual role must be recognized and appreciated. Teamwork is something that must be a high priority and given constant attention. Every player needs to understand how important it is for them to work smoothly together if they want to be successful. Each player must be dedicated to the whole team and be willing to act unselfishly.
