We were divided into groups and each group was assigned a continent. I was assigned the continent of Asia. The project was about exploring different cultures and languages as a part of our language and literature course. Our main focus was not of comparing cultures rather we tried to highlight the uniqueness of each continent including their food their language and even their history. although I was not present at the day of the event because of my SAT test I did help with most of the behind the scenes work.

LO1: Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth

I could identify my strength in this activity which was research skills where I was able to gather a ton on important information regarding countries in Asia, but the area that I needed to develop was creativity as I didn’t have much creative background before this. this activity gave me the exposure that I needed and I think I have improved my creativity skills.

LO2: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills.

The biggest challenge that we faced was time management as I had my SAT approaching and even the schools work was piling up, I think because of this I developed the skill of time management, where I had to make a schedule on when to give this activity time and when to focus on studies along with the SAT preparation.

LO3:Initiate and plan a CAS experience

We had planned each step of this activity with timely meetings early in the morning to save school time we had distributed the workload among the team members and each member had a specific task to do as one had to search for their iconic foods and drinks and others would have to search for the dressing. we planned the whole event where it would look like an exhibition where you enter through one place and navigate through the room in a circular fashion to make it a smooth sail.

LO4: Show perseverance and commitment in CAS experience

Even tough I had my SAT at the day of the event I attended each and every meeting regarding KOMOREBI and tried to provide my team with as many ideas I could come up with and helped with the setting up of the room before my SATs. I even research the content needed for the presentation and helped in making of the PPT that was to be presented during the event.

LO5: Demonstrate skills and benefits of working collaboratively

The fact that we were in a team was probably the most favorable part of the whole event, we had divided the workload and if we weren’t in a group I wouldn’t have been able to take part in this activity because of my SATs, my team was cooperative when they got to know that I wont be able to come at the day of the event and distributed the work where I helped everyone in research and preparation and others focused on what to do at the day of the event.
