Gym

Gym is a location where people exercise and gyming is basically to work out, people come here to build muscles, abs, their core, either to lose weight or to gain. I go to the gym to stay fit and healthy.

I committed to start gyming two years back but in between, I didn’t go to the gym neither did I do some exercise. My whole body was inflexible, I was being too lazy to even get up, so after that moment I decided to rejoin the gym, that I could regain my figure again and rebuild a strong abdomen and core.

The process that I took on was basically to go to the gym 7 days a week and workout for a minimum of 1 hour and a maximum of 1 and a half hours a day. Each day would have added different body part of focus and I would exercise on the basis of the body part that I want to train.

Learning Outcomes:

L1 – Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth

There were many areas of growth under fitness one of them was lack of stamina, I used to get easily drained up, easily get tired but after doing the same exercises again and again I built my stamina. Last time I checked I used to run on the treadmill for almost 10 minutes and now I can for almost 20-25 minutes, it is a change that I brought under my fitness by building up my stamina. The other area for growth was building up my muscles, it took a lot of strength, I used to exercise every day and practice weightlifting. It is not easy to build muscles, but when you do it feels like you have accomplished something in your life, it requires a lot of hard work and also being committed to it.

L2 – Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken developing new skills

Challenges were to of course manage my timing, manage my time to study and to do gym. The other challenge I faced was to build up my strength, to follow the diet that my trainer had given me. To eat a lot of protein such as panner and to drink a protein shake every day. Diet wasn’t easy because you cannot follow them during your summer vacations and it became the biggest challenge

L4 – Commitment to and perseverance

A lot of commitment is needed, you cannot be lazy and just start missing your gyming sessions, If you really want to reduce your weight, or even be fit, you have to come daily to exercise and workout. I was lazy at first, the first few days I didn’t go because I wasn’t enjoying at all, but then what motivated me was my trainer, he made a rule which said that if you miss one class, then when you come for the next class you had to workout extra. I had alternative session in weekdays, so on Monday if I had upper body workout then on Tuesday I will have lower body workout, If I don’t go to the gym on Monday then I have to complete both my upper body workout and also lower body workout, for 2 hours. The workouts changed sometime but the timing didn’t. My gym classes were very late, it was like to complete my homework or to go to the gym. I had to be committed and persistent otherwise no result would be shown. Sometimes I even had to stay overnight and complete my homework, because I was gyming till 9:30 pm. This tells us that commitment and perseverance is required where you want to see a change.

L5 – Demonstrate skills and benefits of working collaboratively

There were many skills that I built up, in less amount of time. I know how to do push ups, pull ups, sit ups, squats, crunches, chest press, leg press, cardio, fitness workout etc. These weren’t easy, it took a lot of hard work and dedication, At times I had pain in my ankle or knee but I kept moving, I wanted to reduce my body fat percentage, that was my main aim. Working collaboratively also mattered,  because when we had to practice in a team, then cooperation was a must. You had to put your strengths with your teammates and work collaboratively.

Gyming has helped me to stay fit and healthy, I recommend everyone to start going to the gym or start it by doing it at your house. There are recommended videos by professionals/experts that will help you to workout even in your house. This will not only increase your lifespan but will also make you strong and confident from the inside.
