Describe the activity and your goals:
This is an independent initiative by me, where I go early to school for 2 days a week in order to help the kitchen staff. This initiative helped me gain knowledge of how food is prepared, and understand the hardwork, the kitchen staff does regularly.
L1: Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth:
Kitchen skills are really important in life, as, they help us troubleshoot problems when we are stuck alone. Some strengths that I identified were cutting and chopping. These skills helped me buildup the base of the cooking. Certain skills like these help me come out of problems when there is no one at home. I need to develop the skills like cooking the food, although I didn’t get an opportunity to cook the food,  I identified that this seemed to be a difficult task.
L2: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process:
Although cutting and chopping weren’t my previously possessed skills, I intended to develop them during the span of the CAS experience. It was quite challenging, as I wasn’t aware of the techniques, and hence had to learn them from scratch. This was quite challenging, still I  developed them properly. I discovered that I had the skills of working hard in the monotonous kitchen environment. I never knew that I could do the same work repeatedly for hours.
L5: Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively:
Me and my mate worked collaboratively in order to compete the tasks efficiently and properly. I started chopping the vegetarian roughly, and later on the chopped them finely. Such menial tasks became funand were completed quickly due to collaboration.
This CAS experience enabled us to serve the student of the school, not too extensively, but to a certain extent where we minimized the work of the kitchen staff and enabled them to make better food by spending time on other important stages of cooking food.
