Describe the activity and your goals (100 words):
This was my contribution of knowledge to the IGCSE community. I always thought that the knowledge I gain should be benefited to the community, hence I though to conduct an activity of such nature. We were 4 people who scored A*’s in IGCSE international mathematics who planned create a website. Also that, there is always a scarcity of classified information regarding the subject “International” Mathematics, hence creating a website like this would add on to a global significance to the people throughout the world.
LO2: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process
Making the content understandable and simple, compiling resources, and tutoring videos were quite challenging. We had to keep ourselves in the audience’s shoes before delivering the content. It was really challenging, as although we know the content clearly, we struggled hard do deliver it well. I had to understand how my teachers teach in the class. I even used certain tricks from my Chemistry and Math classes, where my teacher made understanding concepts easy, and we could understand them well.
LO5: Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively:
As we were 4 math geeky people, we were easily collaborated and made the website. We divided our work, and gave the topics to cover according to each other’s strengths. For instance, my strength is Probability, I was given tasks to work on probability content. And so we made our work easier and successfully completed the website.
LO6: Demonstrate engagement with issues of global significance:
As there always been a scarcity of classified information and resources for International Mathematics on internet. We ourselves have faced the problem of having very limited information about the subject, hence making such a website where we can find everything was relating to a global significance. It catered to some global problem, although its significance wasn’t too much.
