I have been aiming to have stronger muscles and stay fit. When I started going to gym my weight was off the charts, so I was aiming to have average weight as per my height. I knew dreaming wouldn’t help me, I had to work for it. When I started going to gym my fat percent was over 30 percent and now my fat percentage is below 20 percent. I was reflective, seeing my weight I knew I had to do something about it, and I did.
L2 – Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken developing new skills
I am the type of person who likes to eat a lot of junk food, and it was very difficult for me to restrict myself to a fixed diet, but after a while, I hated to go and eat outside, as I didn’t want all my hard work to go to no use.
Being consistent is very difficult, well results don’t happen overnight, it took a lot of time. I didn’t stop going to the gym even when exams were going on, but I went to the gym only for an hour. After doing this I knew If I commit to something, there is nothing that can stop me. Greater confidence in me.
L4-commitment to and perseverance
In a week I hit the gym at least 6 days a week, and every day approximately 2 hours of workout in the gym. Workouts don’t have results if the diet is not followed. I stopped eating outside, was motivated to eat healthily. Alternate days I used to do cardio, to decrease my fat percent in the body, every cardio session I burn approximately 800 calories. On vacation, I used to go to the gym twice a day, once early in the morning and other time in the evening, however, I wasn’t able to continue this after the vacation. Even in exams, I didn’t stop going to the gym.
Recognize and consider the ethics of choices and action.
There are a lot of supplements which people take in order to get faster results, it is tempting to get faster results, but not at the cost of my long-term health. I was getting results, however slower and some people in my gym who worked less and had more results. Doing it right is what matters.
Going to the gym also helped me as a basketball player, my stamina increased significantly. I play at the center position, where you need bulk to box out the opponent.
