Hie! My name is Radhika, and I am 17 years old. People say I am always into books and study stuff but let just say that I believe it to be a place where I find myself to be much more confident than I do in between of unknown or not so close people.
People also tend to say that I am socially disconnected because I am not on any of the social networking sites expect Gmail ( well, I will be, once I finish the IB programme). But I believe that its okay to not be on social apps, because I like to keep my life to myself and to my close ones.
Talking about my talents, so I am good at crafting which includes – origami, kirigami, crochet, quilling, rainbow looming etc. I always – always enjoy doing this stuff, be it learning new crafts or doing it myself or teaching others.
I am also good at calculations – Maths! This is the subject that I study when I don’t want to study other ones. Well, you can say that it is my stress buster.
You could also say that I have this in-built managing and team working skills, which makes me work till my full potential and results in the success of the project undertaken.
I also enjoy doing dancing, listening to songs, reading stories, spending time with my close ones, and making people smile.
I aspire to stay lively and happy throughout the course of my life. And with continuous IB deadlines and assessments, I don’t actually get time for myself or time to develop talents and skills that I want to.
However, with CAS as a requirement of Diploma, I feel it has given us an opportunity to relax and live a little in between our busy study schedule.
Having said that IB keeps us busy in studies, I felt that I have drastically faced a decline in my physical health. That is why the first thing that I would like to improve is my physical fitness by being more involved in physical activities like Volleyball and Gym.
I also feel that lately, I had kept myself too busy in studies to score well which didn’t let to serve to the society. So, all I wanted to do was to serve the people in need and serve the society and spread smiles. And finally, through CAS as a medium, I was able to take part in the service session which helped me to spread smiles among a number of children.
The only thing that I want from my life is to keep teaching me lessons through my own experiences. This will make me reflect on my own self and help me to improve myself in each stage of my life. I believe that the most important thing to do in life to learn. Learn from yourself and others surrounding you.
I also believe that doing what you love even if people say something to you, is always worthy because it gives you happiness and joy in the end. And that is the thing I follow irrespective of what people say.
Lastly, talking about my goals and dreams. So, I strongly feel that every human being deserves a smile. Therefore I would like to go beyond just ‘feeling strongly’ and become more involved in making the society a happy place to live by helping the underprivileged children in their holistic education, spending time in the orphanage and old age home etc – basically serving the society as much as I can.
The second dream of mine is to make an identity of mine in society. I want to work, make use of my education and achieve success in my career. I want my parents and family to be proud of me.
I wish and hope and pray that I am able to fulfill my goals and dreams.
