CAS Personal Profile:

I am Shanay Sanghvi and CAS has been an important part in my IB Diploma journey. It has taught me many things and helped me to enhance my skills in several aspects. CAS has been a wonderful and a knowledgeable experience for me.

My talents are particularly in the field of sports. I like to play basketball and football. Another talent of mine is that I am hardworking and at the same time a quick learner.

I enjoy participating in competitive activities and leading a team. I also enjoy helping others and learning something myself from that journey. I like to be active all the time by taking up some activity or the other.

I would like to improve my communication skills when doing a group activity and also I wish to be more punctual in completing my assignments. Also, through CAS, I would like to gain a deeper recognition of the society and to understand the ethical considerations behind my actions.

With this said, I would like to be involved in more social activities that benefit the society more than an individual. I would like to give back to society through my actions and considerations. Activities such as charity and helping underprivileged children are something that I want to participate in. Apart from this, I would like to push myself beyond my limits in sports. I aim to be involved in activities that are challenging and ask for my best.

Through CAS, I have gained an understanding about life. It has taught me that balance is very necessary for life. Through the strands of Creativity, Activity and Service, this balance of life is highlighted and that had been my outlook on life. Being balanced is the way to be successful.

There are a lot of issues that disturb me when looked upon. Going to the beach, which wasn’t highly populated and popular and yet was very dirty. There were loads of garbage all around the place. This is an issue that I have a concern with. On the other hand, I am very passionate about being the best. I like to participate in activities that bring out my best. This gives me a sense of success which I thrive for.

CAS has helped me question a lot of things, and most importantly I would like to learn about making better ethical decisions that can benefit the people around me. Though I have developed this skill over this journey, I would like to sharpen it further.

I always wanted to try to look at every problem through the lens of society and find a solution that benefits everyone. Through CAS, I have gained an understanding of how to do that. With that said, in the future, this is sort of my dream. I wish to do something for society and I hope my actions benefit the people around me.

This is my CAS journey and it has taught me things beyond my imagination while it has polished my existing skills all along the journey.
