Graffiti on Anti-bullying

Bullying is a severe act which is highly inhumane and it takes place everyday in places such as school. Bullying has negative effects on the individual students and the environment of a school as a whole. The bullies and the victim’s life is hampered due to bullying. Due to this the climate of the school gets affected and many students comes under the influence of bullying.

Few of my friends and I decided to promote kindness through a medium that brings positive vibes in the students. We came up with an idea of creating  graffitis to c this issue. We created two different graffitis on the school walls so, that each time someone passes the graffiti wall he/she will feel uplifted by the positive vibes.

   

We achieved few learning outcomes successfully through this project:

Learning outcome 1 (Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth).

I am passionate about art and therefore decided to take up this as an activity for promoting kindness. I identified my strength which is painting, and displayed it effectively through this activity. This activity required lots of patience and this is what I lacked. I figured out my weakness of not being patient and developed that area of growth through this activity. I used to get tensed at first thinking this graffiti would require a month’s time. After the graffiti was done I realized that I overcame the biggest challenge that was being patient. I was proud of myself because I turned my weakness into strength.

Learning outcome 4 (commitment to and perseverance)

This activity required immense efforts and commitment and we successfully showed that while we were into the process of making graffiti. We used to come early twice or thrice a week for a month to complete the graffiti and also committed ourselves for 8 hrs at a stretch on Saturdays. We stayed on toes for a month to finish this graffiti. All of us had the perseverance and even during the times of difficulty one never used to give up. We got delayed but we didn’t give up as we wanted this to become a part of the life class. We somehow managed to finish the graffiti before the life class by staying committed.

Learning outcome 5( Demonstrate skills and benefits of working collaboratively)

We worked collaboratively and working in group benefited a lot. Each of us had taken different responsibilities such as painting, drawing, making borders etc. Working in group made out task easy and each one of us was able to perform his /her role effectively. We all demonstrated the skills we had, through these grafftis. I majorly contributed in painting because I am passionate about it. We were able to complete this grafftis on time because we had distributed work equally among all the members .

This graffitis was a part of the life class which was held at our school . Graffitis mainly served the purpose of bringing positivity with help of the vibrant and bright colors used. We had intentionally used warm colors to make the person passing by feel joyous and uplifted. The graffiti of the arm tried to make the people passing by realize that never give up , stay strong, and keep fighting the battles. The graffiti of the butterfly was made to ensure that the person passing by is injected with positive vibes. This is how we served the purpose of the graffiti successfully.
